The victim, identified as one Mahender Bansal, a resident of the Anand Parbat area, was abducted on Monday with the kidnappers making a ransom demand of Rs 5 lakh in exchange for his release.
Police claimed that the trio, who had initially taken him to a village in Uttar Pradesh, dropped him off at a bus stand in the national capital following unrelenting police pressure.
One of the accused, identified as Amir Siddiqui (36), was arrested from his Uttam Nagar home on Tuesday evening. A revolver and some cartridges were allegedly recovered from his possession. Siddiqui was previously involved in six criminal cases, police said.
Abhishek dabbled in the share market where he is said to have suffered heavy losses. He knew Bansal and gave information about him to Siddiqui to enable the kidnapping in exchange for money, police said.
