In a letter to CPI(M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechuri, Leader of Opposition in Kerala Assembly Ramesh Chennithala said the move seems a long term conspiracy in removing the role of great leaders of Indian freedom movement while including Karl Marx and Adolf Hitler in the text book.
Citing media reports about an incident in Rajastan, where the lessons related to Jawaharlal Nehru has been dropped arbitrarily, Chennithala said "Like the same, Tripura class 10 text book omits the part, which describes about father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi".
"The book features Russian and French revolutions. It also devotes pages to the birth of cricket in England and IPL, Nazism and the rise of Adolf Hitler, etc," he said.
Chennithala said that Congress unit in Tripura took up this issue and the party workers hit the street to protest this.

In national level BJP is trying to saffronise text book and history. At the same time unfortunately Left front government in Tripura is also on the same path by removing the portions regarding national leaders like Gandhiji, the Congress leader alleged.
"In Parliament, you are with us on fighting against saffronisations by the BJP. We have no doubt about CPI(M)'s patriotism. However I request you to kindly go through the above mentioned incident.
