"In the first half of this year, that is between April and September period, we sold about 659 units. We hope to sell around 1,300-1,400 units this year", Triumph Motorcycles Ltd., Managing Director, Vimal Sumbly told reporters after unveiling the new-generation Bonneville T100 here.
The company, which entered the Indian market in November 2013, sold about 3,300 units. Last year, it sold about 1,200 units, he said.
Triumph Motorcycles currently sells about 16 models across various categories, he said, adding a few models were assembled at its Manesar unit in Haryana.
Triumph has 14 dealerships across the country and about 55 per cent of its products sold in India are financed through banks.
"Our plan is to increase the dealership to 25 by 2020", he said, adding currently some of the products are sourced from the United Kingdom and Thailand.
Triumph Motorcycles has manufacturing facilities in the United Kingdom, Thailand and assembly units in Brazil and India.
