TRS-backed nominee wins Hyderabad Teachers' MLC seat

The ruling TRS-backed MLC Katepally Janardhan Reddy was re-elected to the Telangana Legislative Council from the Hyderabad-Rangareddy-Mahbubnagar Teachers constituency.
Reddy, who contested as the nominee of the Progressive Recognised Teachers' Union, secured 9734 votes in the election, held on March 19.
His nearest rival was P.Manek Reddy who secured 5095 votes.
The counting of votes was completed last night.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chnadrasekhar Rao congratulated Reddy and thanked all the teachers for electing him.
