Rao said if elected the Chief Minister of the soon-to-be formed state, the first thing he would do was to write off farm loans to provide relief to agriculturists.
"I will put my first signature on the file related to waiver of (up to) Rs 1 lakh loan to the farmers of Telangana."
Rao was speaking at a well-attended gathering at Husnabad town in the district.
The former Union Minister, in his 30-minute speech, launched a scathing attack on Congress, saying the party was largely missing during the Telangana statehood movement.

He termed the alliance between TDP and BJP in Andhra Pradesh as a "conspiracy".
The TRS president promised to provide 12 per cent reservation for tribals in jobs and educational institutes and said the weaker sections would live with self respect in Telangana.
Rao said the dreams of Telangana people would be fulfilled if his party won all the 17 Lok Sabha seats in the region, which will attain statehood on June 2.
Simultaneous Assembly and Lok Sabha polls will be held in Telangana on April 30.
