US President Donald Trump today accused his own Attorney General Jeff Sessions of being "very weak" in the investigation against former secretary of state and the 2016 Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, amid media reports that he plans to sack his aide.
"Attorney General Jeff Sessions has taken a VERY weak position on Hillary Clinton crimes (where are E-mails & DNC server) & Intel leakers!" Trump tweeted, expressing anger against the man who was the first US senator to endorse his candidacy.
Over the last few days Trump has gone public in expressing his dissatisfaction over Sessions position on investigations related to Russian interference in the American presidential elections last year.
Sessions has recused himself from the government's probe of Russian meddling in the US election.
In an interview to The New York Times last week, Trump said he would have never appointed Sessions to the position of Attorney General had he known this.
Sessions has said that he would stay in the position as long as it is appropriate.

The White House yesterday said Trump has full confidence in Sessions and that the president was expressing his viewpoint.
Trump, however, today continued with public embarrassment of his own Attorney General.
"Ukrainian efforts to sabotage Trump campaign - 'quietly working to boost Clinton.' So where is the investigation A.G.," asked the US President in another tweet.
Trump alleged that the acting head of the FBI Andrew McCabe, who is heading the investigation into Hillary Clinton episode, received USD 70,000 from them for his wife.
"Problem is that the acting head of the FBI & the person in-charge of the Hillary investigation, Andrew McCabe, got USD 700,000 from H for wife!" he tweeted.
Meanwhile, media reports have been speculating several names for a possible replacement of Sessions as the US Attorney General. One being the former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani and the outgoing New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.
"I know that [the president] is certainly frustrated and disappointed in the attorney general for recusing himself," the White House Press Secretary, Sarah Sanders, told Fox news.
"He is continuing to move forward and focus on other things. But that frustration certainly hasn't gone away, and I don't think it will," she said.
