"Who was it that secretly said to Russian President, "Tell Vladimir that after the election I'll have more flexibility?" Trump tweeted, apparently referring to a hot-mic conversation between Obama and the then Russian President Medvedev in 2012 before his second term.
Facing flak over his top administration officials' alleged contacts with Russian officials during and after elections, Trump yesterday accused Obama of "wire tapping" his office in New York just before the 2016 presidential elections and likened the alleged surveillance of his communications to the "Watergate" scandal.
"How low has President Obama gone to tapp my phones during the very sacred election process. This is Nixon/Watergate. Bad (or sick) guy!" he said.
Obama's spokesperson Kevin Lewis rejected the allegations as "simply false" and said the former US president never ordered surveillance on any US citizen.
Meanwhile, NBC reported that senior US officials had no clue about Trump's allegations of wire tapping at the Trump Tower.
