Donald Trump's apparent dislike for the American press has refused to die, as the US president today again berated them saying he understands their "total dishonesty" more than anybody else and lets people know about it.
"I don't mind a bad story if it's true. I don't like bad stories, stories that should be a positive story when they make them totally negative," Trump told reporters during a media appearance with the County Sheriffs at the White House.
"I understand the total dishonesty of the media better than anybody and I let people know it. The media is a very, very dishonest arm and we'll see what happens," he said.
This was not the first time Trump criticised the American media. Yesterday, he told military leaders in Tampa, Florida, that there have been attacks all over Europe but "in many cases the very, very dishonest press doesn't want to report it".
He has also accused a section of the American media, including The New York Times, of running "fake news".
But today, though, he aired his frustration over the negative stories about him appearing in the US media, Trump apperead to reserve his anger for a select few.

"Not everybody, and I have to say that. I always preface it by saying not everybody, but there's tremendous dishonesty, pure outright dishonesty from the media."
The White House later released a list of 78 terrorist attack incidents, they say, the media has under-reported not only in the US but across the globe.
"I have to know because I'm reported on possibly more than anybody in the world. I don't think you'll say anything about that. I happen to know how dishonest the media is," Trump said.
