Normally the presidential candidate appears and delivers speech only on the last night of the convention after he is officially nominated as the party's candidate.
"Trump will be accompanying his wife...They'll be flying in together. He will introduce her tonight, and she will speak. They will then, after her comments, go back to New York," Manafort told reporters on the first day of the Cleveland Convention here.
In a brief biography provided by the Trump Campaign, Melania is described as a businesswoman.

During the news conference, Manafort did not preview her speech, but did say she would be reflecting on the personal aspect of the Republican presidential candidate.
"His wife's speech is the beginning of what I would call the family testimonials that will describe Donald Trump, the man. It is a part we think is historic," Manafort said.
