In an unconventional move, Donald Trump will appear on the very first night of the Republican National Convention here to introduce his wife Melania who is scheduled to deliver a speech to make a strong pitch for her husband before the American public.
Trump Campaign manager Paul Manafort made the announcement in this regard.
Normally the presidential candidate appears and delivers speech only on the last night of the convention after he is officially nominated as the party's candidate.
"Trump will be accompanying his wife...They'll be flying in together. He will introduce her tonight, and she will speak. They will then, after her comments, go back to New York," Manafort told reporters on the first day of the Cleveland Convention here.
Manafort said Trump would officially arrive in Cleveland on Wednesday, a day before he is schedule to deliver his acceptance speech. "He wanted to be here for the speech she is going to give," he said in response to a question.
In a brief biography provided by the Trump Campaign, Melania is described as a businesswoman.
