TUI Travel aims to double its India growth in 4-5 years

TUI Travel India, a part of international leisure group TUI Travel PLC, expects to double growth in the next 4-5 years on the back of its retail expansion here.
"Outbound travel is a market that is rapidly growing in India and we want to fuel this growth further. We are focused on expanding our presence in the country," Arjun Sharma, Managing Director, TUI India, said here.
At present, the firm has five retail stores in India - all located in Delhi and its adjoining NCR region.
The international leisure travel Group is planning to open retail stores in Ahmedabad, Chennai and Hyderabad in the next six months.
"We plan to expand our retail presence in phases that will fuel our business growth. We are growing at 15 per cent year-on-year and expect to double our expansion rate in 4-5 years," TUI India Chief Operating Officer Vishal Sinha said.
Besides selling its products, these retail travel stores aim to bring consumers closer to the brand, he said.

Sinha further said the company will first establish its presence in Tier one cities and then subsequently foray into Tier two ones.
The Group also plans to introduce new international and domestic travel destinations going forward.
Jeannette Linfoot, Director of Tour Operations - New Markets, TUI Travel PLC, said India is a very exciting market and the company sees a tremendous potential in terms of growth here.
"Our focus will remain on exclusive and differentiated products or experiences and our intention is to create a diverse product portfolio by bringing some unique and specialist brands from TUI's global portfolio. Our focus is to grow brand presence and increase market share," she added.
TUI Travel PLC operates out of 18 countries serving 30 million customers from 180 countries.
