Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki has made an appeal to the abductors to release a kidnapped government official on "humanitarian ground".
Chief Executive Officer of Arunachal Rural Research Development Agency, Doli Nyodu was kidnapped by unknown miscreants two days ago from his official quarter.
"Nyodu is an honest officer dedicatedly serving the people. I appeal to the abductors, whosoever they might be, to release him on humanitarian ground so that he can be back with his grief-stricken family," Tuki said.
Meanwhile, the chief minister has also directed police to intensify search operation to locate and rescue Nyodu.
"Police should intensify their search operation as the government is committed to provide safety and security to the people and no stone should be left unturned to trace the official and materialise his safe release," Tuki said.
The chief minister said this during a meeting convened with the chief secretary, home commissioner, DGP and other high officials here yesterday.
Itanagar SDPO Jummar Basar, however expressed hope that police would soon make a breakthrough in the case.
Several organisations of the state have also appealed for safe and early release of Nyodu.
