He was interacting with the officers after inaugurating the newly constructed office of the Superintending Engineer, Itanagar circle, at Chimpu here today, official sources informed.
"I am a layman when it comes to scientific and engineering solutions to our issues. Therefore the onus is on you, the engineers, to come up with technical solutions," he said and sought suggestions from the experts.
Tuki also suggested roping in experts from outside the state, who can provide with inputs that might give long-term relief to people from floods and landslides.
"Don't go for temporary structures and projects that would give short term solutions to our problems. As far as possible projects should be proposed that would give permanent solution," the chief minister said.
Stating that several hydro-power projects are under various stages of implementation, he said besides producing electricity, the river waters can be optimally utilized for irrigation and drinking water supply, he said.
