At the moment, Arunachal Pradesh has a permanent bench of the Gauhati High Court.
Official sources here said Tuki called on Union Law Minister Salman Khurshid at New Delhi and pointed out that an independent High Court had become a necessity in the state.
Khurshid assured him active consideration of the proposal by his ministry, the sources said.
The union minister also promised sufficient funds for up-gradation of infrastructure for the present Permanent Bench of the High Court.
To another request of Tuki for speeding up the process for establishment of a law college in the state, he said funds would be made available for it very soon.
The chief minister also met Defence Minister A K Antony to demand infrastructure like connectivity to villages in border areas by constructing and maintaining porter tracks, log bridges, the sources said.
While attending the Congress Working Committee meeting yesterday, Tuki highlighted the financial burden upon the state government due to various factors.
