Tunda's aides remanded to seven days police custody

Top Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) bomb expert Abdul Karim Tunda's two aides, who had allegedly helped in iniltration of Pakistani and Bangladeshi terrorists in India in 1997 to carry out terror strikes, were today remanded to seven days police custody by a Delhi court.
Tunda's aide Allauddin and Mohd Basiruddin were produced before the court from separate prisons from West Bengal in pursuance to production warrants issued against them and Special Cell of Delhi Police sought their seven days custodial interrogation in connection with the case.
The police told the court that Allauddin and Basiruddin had met Tunda in 1994 through another accused Mohd Zakaria and they joined the banned terror outfit LeT through Tunda and started working with them.

"They (Allauddin and Basiruddin) further disclosed that they, along with Mohd Zakaria and Moulvi Nizam, helped accused Abdul Karim Tunda in illegally crossing/infiltration of Pakistani and Bangladeshi terrorists from Indo-Bangladesh border. Accordingly, both the accused persons were arrested in the present case," the police said.
Seeking their custodial interrogation, it said they were to be confronted with Zakaria and Tunda, who are already in their custody, to "unearth the whole conspiracy which resulted in more than two dozens of blasts in Delhi and adjoining states i.E. Haryana and UP."
After hearing the submissions, Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Amit Bansal remanded both the accused to police custody till September 30.

The police also said "places at India-Bangladesh border, from where accused persons Allauddin and Mohd Basiruddin along with accused Mohd Zakaria had infiltrated the Pakistani and Bangladeshi terrorists in India, are to be identified and pointed out in West Bengal."
Zakaria, who is the father-in-law of Tunda, is in police custody till September 26 while Tunda is in custody till September 28 in connection with a 1997 bomb blast case lodged against him here.
