Tunda's involvement in 1997 Jalandhar blasts suspected: GRP

Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorist Abdul Karim Tunda, arrested three days back from the Indo-Nepal border, is suspected to be involved in the 1997 Jalandhar blasts also, the Government Railway Police (GRP) has said.
On March 14, 1997, a powerful bomb blast at the parking lot of Jalandhar railway station had killed seven persons and injured 13 others.
GRP Station House Officer Bant Singh said officials are going through various documents related to the probe into the blast.
"If we find any indication of Tunda's involvement in the blasts, we will start the process of bringing him to Jalandhar through production warrant," Singh said.

Tunda, a close aide of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and one of India's most wanted terrorists who was a bomb-maker for LeT, has been was arrested after being on the run in several countries for 19 years.
He is one of the 20 terrorists India had asked the Pakistan government to hand over after the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack and is suspected to be involved in 40 bombings in the country.
