Arousing emotions of patriotism and pride, foot-tapping drumbeats and chimes reverberated the air as Army's Pipe Band was at its best display during the 16th Vijay Diwas celebrations here.
Using the ancient, simple and inexpensive instruments, the band created rich music this evening, enthralling the audience which included Northern Army Commander Lt General D S Hooda.
The band played to famous songs like 'Kadam kadam badhaye ja' and 'saare jahan se achcha' among other tunes.
The band received huge applause from the audience which had turned up in large numbers to witness the event despite heavy rains.
The Pipe Band was followed by a drill by an air warriors team which formed up into various formations and performed the drills demonstrating their confidence in self and their team mates.
The drills using sharp bayonets and heavy weapon not only displayed the immense discipline within the troops, but also reflected the bravery and courage imbibed in the team by training and hard work.
