Turmeric edges up on scattered buying

Turmeric prices were up by Rs 100 per quintal in an otherwise steady wholesale kirana market today on scattered buying by stockists.
Traders said some buying by stockists against restricted supplies from producing belts mainly influenced turmeric prices.
In the national capital, turmeric went up by Rs 100 to Rs 9,000-12,800 per quintal.
Following are today's quotations (in Rs):
Ajwain (per kg) 150-185, black pepper (per kg) 560-740, betel-nut (kg) 300-350, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,690-1,700 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,800-1,900.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 780-840, cardamom (colour robin) 780-800, cardamom bold 790-810, cardamom extra (bold) 920-970 and cloves 710-830.
