At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, turmeric for delivery in far-month May traded lower by Rs 130, or 1.50 per cent to Rs 8,528 per quintal with an open interest of 5,305 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in April contracts shed Rs 120, or 1.41 per cent to Rs 8,410 per quintal in 19,445 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by traders owing to slackened demand in the spot market against adequate stocks positions dragged down turmeric prices at futures trade.
