Turmeric prices edged higher by 0.92 per cent to Rs 7,468 per quintal in futures trade today as traders created fresh positions amid uptick in domestic and export demand in the spot market.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, turmeric for delivery in December moved up by Rs 68, or 0.92 per cent, to Rs 7,468 per quintal with an open interest of 2,925 lots.
Likewise, the spice for delivery in November edged up by Rs 28, or 0.38 per cent, to Rs 7,480 per quintal in 5,380 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions built up by participants following upsurge in domestic as well as export demand in the spot market, mainly influenced turmeric prices at futures trade.
