Turmeric prices eased by Rs 34 to Rs 6,550 per quintal in futures trade Wednesday as traders booked profits amid adequate stocks at the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, Turmeric for November was trading lower by Rs 34, or 0.52 per cent, to Rs 6,550 per quintal with an open interest of 355 lots.

However, the spice for December was trading higher by Rs 6, or 0.09 per cent, to Rs 6,630 per quintal in 12,900 lots.

Analysts attributed the fall in turmeric prices for November to profit-booking by speculators and sufficient stocks position at the spot market.
