Turmeric and jeera prices rose Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today on fresh buying by retailers and stockists amid low stocks.
Besides, a fall in supplies from producing belts and a firming trend in futures market supported the upside.
Turmeric prices rose Rs 100 to conclude at Rs 7,900-11,900 per quintal.
Jeera common and jeera best quality also traded Rs 100 each higher to finish at Rs 16,500-17,000 and Rs 20,500-21,000 per quintal, respectively.
Traders said buying support from retailers and stockists against fall in supplies from producing belts mainly pushed up turmeric and jeera prices.

Ajwain (per kg) 160-190, black pepper (per kg) 630-780, betel-nut (kg) 300-350, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,730-1,750 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,980-2,000.
