Turmeric, jeera rise on fall in supply

Turmeric and jeera prices rose by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today largely influenced by fall in supplies from producing belts against buying support from stockists due to rising export demand.
Firming trend in futures market also supported the uptrend.
Turmeric prices rose by Rs 100 to settle at Rs 7,800-11,900 per quintal.
Jeera common and jeera best quality also higher by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 10,800-10.900 and Rs 13,200-13,700 per quintal.
Traders said buying support from stockists on the back of rising demand from exporters, mainly pushed up turmeric nd jeera prices on the wholesale kirana market here.
Following were today's quotations per quintal:
Ajwain 12,500-18,500, black pepper (per kg) 645-775, betel-nut (kg) 180-200, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,300-1,330 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,400-1,500.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 630-690, cardamom (colour robin) 640-650, cardamom bold 660-680, cardamom extra (bold) 850-880 and cloves (kg) 900-1,000.
