Turmeric, jeera rise on fresh buying

Turmeric and jeera prices rose by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today on fall in supplies from producing belts against fresh buying by retailers and stockists.
Firming trend in futures market also supported the uptrend.
Turmeric prices rose by Rs 100 to settle at Rs 7,500-11,600 per quintal.
Jeera common and jeera best quality also higher by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 10,600-10.700 and Rs 13,000-13,500 per quintal.
Traders said buying support from retailers and stockists against fall in supplies from producing belts, mainly pushed up turmeric and jeera prices on the wholesale kirana market here.
Following are today's quotations per quintal:
Ajwain 12,500-18,500, black pepper (per kg) 595-725, betel-nut (kg) 180-200, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,300-1,330 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,400-1,500.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 620-680, cardamom (colour robin) 630-640, cardamom bold 650-670, cardamom extra (bold) 840-870 and cloves (kg) 870-970.
