Turmeric and jeera prices rose by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today largely on the back of increased buying by retailers.
Besides, a firming trend from producing regions supported the uptrend.
Turmeric prices were up by Rs 100 to settle at Rs 7,700-12,700 per quintal.
Jeera common and jeera best quality closed higher by Rs 100 each to Rs 12,200-12,400 and Rs 15,400-15,900 per quintal, respectively.
Traders said buying support from retailers and stockists against fall in supplies from producing belts mainly pushed up turmeric and jeera prices.
Following are today's quotations:
Ajwain (per kg) 155-200, black pepper (per kg) 720-915, betel-nut (kg) 270-320, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,500-1,550 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,600-1,725.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 750-800, cardamom (colour robin) 650-670, cardamom bold 670-700, cardamom extra (bold) 870-900 and cloves 700-800.
