At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, turmeric for delivery in May rose by Rs 54, or 0.76 per cent to Rs 7190 per quintal with an open interest of 5480 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in April traded higher by Rs 44, or 0.62 per cent to Rs 7144 per quintal in 17,930 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions created by speculators after rise in demand in demand in the spot market mainly helped turmeric prices to trade higher at futures trade.
