The pachyderm was found dead yesterday, Sub-Divisional Officer of Forest of Kalagarah range G S Karki said today.
The post-mortem report indicates that the tusker may have died after sustaining injuries in a fight over territory with another tusker in the ongoing mating season, he said.
However, the elephant's body parts were found intact. PTI CORR AVT
