TVS Motor sales rise 1% in August

TVS Motor Company today reported 1 per cent increase in total sales at 2,27,653 units in August.
The Chennai-based company had sold 2,25,064 units in the same month last year.
Total two-wheeler sales for the month stood at 2,16,781 units as against 2,15,244 units in August 2014, TVS Motor Company said in a statement.
Motorcycle sales increased by 6 per cent to 87,044 units last month, compared with 82,320 units in the corresponding month, a year ago.
Scooter sales grew by 11 per cent to 72,865 units in August 2015 as against 65,544 units in the corresponding month last year.

Exports last month jumped 21 per cent to 42,570 units, compared to 35,074 units in the corresponding month a year ago.
