'Twenty Years' wins big at Best Film Competition Awards-2014

A film "Twenty Years" today dominated the Best Film Competition Awards-2014 announced here by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages.
The awards, given in fiction, non-fiction and other categories, were distributed by Speaker Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta, an official spokesman said.
"Twenty Years" - a film by SV Productions - was adjudged the Best Film in fiction category and also received Best Director and Best Actor awards, the spokesman said.
He said the second Best film Award in fiction category was given to film "Wake up" also produced by S V Productions and third Best film Award in this category was given to film "Sula Mout".
The Best film Award in non-fiction category was given to film "Ancient Architectural Styles of Kashmir" produced by Films Division/Debonair, Film and Video Communications and second Best film Award was given to film "Lost Dreams" produced by Krishna Communications, the spokesman said.
He said the Best Director Award was given to Tsering Wangdus Lonpo and D Wangchuk Mogol for the film "Twenty Years".

The Best Actor Award was given to Zahoor Zaidi and Decchen Yangdol in "Sula Mout" and "Twenty Years" respectively.
The Speaker also inaugurated a two-day film festival on the occasion.
The Speaker said Jammu and Kashmir has huge potential in the field of arts and the artists of the state were very talented.
He congratulated all the winners of the contest and expressed hope they would continue filming the best of the society for inspiration of others.
He said that the aim of making films should be on encouraging the cultural activities in the state.
Gupta stressed upon the film personalities and artists for strengthening of cultural, social and other related activities through their films.
