The detective department of Kolkata Police did not seek police remand of the two accused siblings - Zahir and Shahid - as they want to hold the Test Identification parade before the tourist leaves for her country.
The officiating Chief Metropolitan Magistrate at Bankshall Court Aniruddha Saha remanded the accused to judicial custody till January nine on a prayer by prosecution for the same for holding the identification parade.
The accused were arrested yesterday by a joint team of Kolkata and Gaya Police and brought here on a transit remand.
According to police, the tourist was befriended on November 20 by a person named Wasim Khan who spoke Japanese and with whom she went to Gaya.

"Once there, Wasim molested her and took Rs 76,000 from her bank account before handing her over to the duo. There (at Gaya) the brothers confined her till the end of December and repeatedly gangraped her," according to Special Commissioner (Crime) of Kolkata Police, Pallab Kanti Ghosh.
Later, they put the girl into a bus bound for Varanasi where she got in touch with her friends and contacted the Japanese consulate in Kolkata, Ghosh said.
Following this, Wasim was arrested and acting on information collected from him during interrogation, a Kolkata Police team went to Gaya and arrested the duo.
