Two persons were arrested today for allegedly creating rukcus in a church and threatening a priest during Sunday mass in Begumpur area of outer Delhi, police said.
"Accused Yogesh Mathur and Pradip Sharma have been arrested for allegedly creating ruckus and threatening people and the priest in a church at Begumpur," said DCP (Outer district) M N TIwari.
During investigation it was found that the duo were trying to vitiate the atmosphere in the area. But there is no evidence to show their allegiance to any group, said the officer.
Mathur and Sharma had, on last Sunday, gone to the Christ Blessings Church in Jain Nagar of Begumpur area and created ruckus during the mass being attended by scores of people in the morning. They are seen reaching the Church on a two-wheeler in a CCTV camera footage.
A complaint was filed by a Church goer who accused Mathur of making "objectionable" statement against the religion and priest of the Church Paul Daniels for alleged conversion.
He had also threatened the priest by pointing towards him and saying "he will be taken care of".

A case under Section 295A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion and religious belief) and 296 (disturbing religious assembly) was registered.
Police said further probe is underway to find out whether it was an individual act by Mathur and his accomplice or some organisation was behind it.
Mathur was engaged in farming and Sharma accompanied him as his "sidekick". Although Mathur claimed to be a self-proclaimed president of a Hindu outfit but it was not substantiated, they said.
"We are keeping a watch and ensuring strictest action against the trouble makers who may try to incite feelings of the people through acts related to religion. In the present case, no connection of the accused with any established organisation has come so far," Tiwari added.
