City superintendent of police, Salman Taj Patil said district president of Hindu Yuva Vahini, Bobby has a shop selling ladies' item near Gaushala Phatak.
Rakesh, a vendor had put up a weekly temporary stall outside Bobby's shop selling similar items.
A week ago Bobby admonished Rakesh and told him not to sell similar items in front of his shop. Both of them also had scuffled over the issue and a settlement was reached at Gaushala police outpost.
Last night when Bobby was sitting in his shop Rakesh alongwith two other accomplices fired at Bobby.
Bobby and Rakesh were admitted to a nearby private hospital where Bobby is recuperating while critically injured Rakesh has been referred to GTB hospital.
The two accomplices of Rakesh, Nikhil and Mukesh have been arrested and the weapon of offence a .315 bore country made pistol has been seized, polcie added.
