Two arrested for fraud in school admissions

Amit Kumar and Pankaj Choudhary were apprehended following a complaint from the Principal of a school in west Delhi, they said.

"The Principal of Sarvodya Bal Vidyalya in Vikaspuri was randomly checking students after assembly when he found that three children were wearing uniform without logo of school. The students told him that they have been recently admitted in the school.

"He called in charge of admission and on checking of school records, it came to light that these students were not admitted in the school. Thestudents told him that Kumar arranged for their admission in the school after paying certain amount," police said.

The students were of class-IX and XI and they told the school authorities that some other students have also been admitted in the school through Kumar. "Those students were also called. All of them revealed the name of Mr. Amit Kumar and the same story. There were a total of 17 such students," police said.

The parents of these children and Kumar were called to the school. The parents identified Kumar and stated that they offered Rs 4000 to Rs 8000 to Amit.

Police was called and Amit was arrested. His questioning led to Choudhary's arrest.
