Two men were today arrested by police for allegedly murdering a 54-year-old man whose decomposed body was found at his residence two days ago in South-East Delhi's Govindpuri area.
The incident came to light Tuesday when neighbours called police and complained of foul smell emanating from a flat. Police later found a decaying body with its limbs tied and mouth taped in the bed-box of the house.
"The house was rented by the deceased and he could not be immediately identified as his landlord had not kept his identity documents while renting the flat. He was later recognised as KK Chopra," said a police official.
A case was registered in this regard at Govindpuri police station.
"We have arrested Rocky (21) and Rajan (19) after investigations revealed that they were behind the murder," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-East) P Karunakaran.
During investigation, police found that Chopra was in a relationship with a girl named Komal who was also close to Rocky.

"Infuriated over this, Rocky decided to eliminate him with the help of his associate Rajan. Both of them reached Chopra's residence on July 10, overpowered him, taped his mouth, tied his limbs and shoved his body in the bed box. Chopra died due to choking. His body was discovered five days after the incident," said a police official.
Prima facie it appears that Komal was not involved in the murder, but she will also be questioned in the case once police manages to trace her.
Meanwhile Chopra's estranged wife, who stays in Kalkaji area, has refused to claim his body. He is survived by two sons, one of them lives in Bangalore and the other in America.
