Two arrested for stabbing toll plaza employee on BWSL

Two persons have been arrested for allegedly stabbing a toll plaza employee on the Bandra-Worli Sealink (BWSL) today, police said.
The incident took place at around 5:15 pm, they said.
According to the complaint filed by Prabhakar Bhalekar, project manager at Bandra toll plaza, he was on duty on lane number 5 going towards Worli when the accused -- Paleshwar Chavan and Rahul Rege arrived in their car at the toll plaza and refused to pay the toll.
They tried to flee from the spot, but on duty staff, Amol Chavan (45), stopped their car. The duo got out of the car and started hurling abuses and manhandled Chavan, said the complaint.
Later one of them took out a knife and stabbed Chavan on the left side of his abdomen, it said.
He is currently undergoing treatment at hospital and his condition is stated to be critical, the official said.
Both the accused have been arrested and booked under section 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) and other relevant sections of IPC.
