Two arrested for transporting heroin

Mizoram Excise and Narcotics department officers and Supply Reduction Service (SRS) volunteers of the Young Mizo Association (YMA) seized 70 grams of heroin from two maxicabs in Aizawl yesterday.
Excise and Narcotics department spokesman Peter Zohmingthanga today said two drivers Vanlalhruaia (21) of Mizoram-Myanmar border Zokhawthar village in Champhai district and Dawngkima (31) of Khuangleng in Champhai district were arrested in this connection.
The arrested drivers said the contraband was transported to Aizawl from the Mizoram-Myanmar border.
The seized drugs was worth around Rs 3.15 lakh in the local market.
