On a tip-off, Shakil Ahmad (28) and Aftab (22) were arrested when they were on way to meet their aides yesterday.
The duo was allegedly involved in abduction and murder of of Ashraf, whose body is yet to be recovered, police said.
Four persons, who were earlier arrested in the case, had told police that they had thrown Ashraf's body in Roorkee canal, while Shakil and Aftab disclosed that they had buried the body in the farm of one of the accused Irshad at Meer Pur Bijnor in Uttar Pradesh.
"Therefore, Aslam got Ashraf kidnapped and shot him dead in a car on March 25, 2012," said Yadav.
Shakil was earlier arrested in a murder case in which he along with his associates had killed Akbar, police said.
Aftab is brother-in-law of Shakil and actively involved in the kidnapping and murder of Ashraf, they said.
