The two, who were arrested from different areas of the city by a special team, used to steal bikes parked on streets and unattended parking lots and then used them in snatching mobile phones and cash from pedestrians, police said.
After committing crimes, the duo -- Mahender Meena and Guddu alias Deepak Kumar, both from J J Colony in Khanpur, used to abandon bikes on roads and parking areas.
While Meena, was arrested on Monday last while he was riding on a stolen bike in Ambedkar Nagar area, his accomplice Guddu was arrested today.
"Police got information that an auto-lifter operating in South Delhi is coming to Ambedkarnagar to steal a bike. Meena was identified by the informer and was stopped at a picket in Madangir. He was arrested after he failed to produce the vehicle's document," police said.
On interrogation, Meena said he and his associate Guddu had stolen the motorcycle 15 days ago from Tughlakabad Extension area, said Ajay Chaudhry ACP South East district.
Following the information, his associate Guddu was arrested today and a knife was recovered from his possession.
Police have also recovered 12 mobile phones from them.
