District Judge P S Teji sentenced Corporation Bank's erstwhile senior manager Prabhat Sitaram Kudwa and official Prashant Laxman Mahale besides three others - Meerajuddin, Kashimuddin and Jagdeep Singh Gill.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 45,000 on Kudwa, Rs 75,000 on Mahale and Rs 60,000 each on three others.
According to the CBI, a complaint was filed by the DGM of the Corporation Bank alleging commission of fraud by Kudwa in giving loans.
The CBI had said Kudwa and Mahale had sanctioned loan of Rs six lakh to Meerajuddin and Kashimuddin to purchase a flat in Vaishali in Ghaziabad.
The agency had said that during verification, it was revealed that no such flat existed for which the loan was sanctioned and thus the agreement to sell and other documents furnished by the loanee were false and fabricated.
It had also said that Kudwa had sanctioned and disbursed the loan without pre-sanction verification.
The accused have been held guilty under the provisions of the Indian Penal Code and the Prevention of Corruption Act.
