The two Jat leaders said they were "disillusioned" over the working of the Vasundhara Raje government in the state and Narendra Modi dispensation at the Centre.
At the AICC headquarters, they were welcomed to the party fold by senior party leaders including party's chief spokesman Randeep Surjewala, Rajasthan PCC Chief Sachin Pilot and state CLP leader Rameshwar Dudi.
Pilot said that the entry of the two leaders would strengthen the Congress and was indicative of the way political winds are blowing in the state.
This, he said, was significant in view of the fact that BJP had won all the 25 seats in the Lok Sabha polls in May 2014 and had secured 163 out of a total of 200 seats in the last Assembly polls held nearly three years back.
