"Two blasts took place but there are no reports of any injury. We have started an investigation into both the cases," ADG (law and order) Anuj Sharma said.
In another incident, a godown was set on fire by pro-Gorkhaland supporters in the hills during the day - the 71st day of the indefinite shutdown in the hills.
Police said an improvised explosive device (IED) went off outside Sukhiapokhri police station and caused severe damage to nearby shops and vehicles, police said.
The second blast took place at Lebong area of Darjeeling hills also in the morning. In this case too, few vehicles were damaged but there was no report of any casualty or injury to any person.
The blasts today took place five days after a twin blast rocked Darjeeling hills on Saturday in which one civic police volunteer was killed and two others were injured.
