In separate cases, two bodies were today recovered from different areas under Thane police commissionerate, an official said.
In the first case, headless body of a man was recovered from Jawsai village, while in the second one, a 26-year-old man was allegedly found murdered in Uttar Shiv in Dahisar area, police said.
"In the first incident, the Ambernath police recovered the highly decomposed torso of a man aged around 40, on the hillock in Jawsai village," Thane police spokesperson Sukhada Narkar said.
After a search, the police found the severed head lying at a distance. The body has been sent to a government hospital for post-mortem, she said.
An offence under IPC sections 302 and 201 was registered in connection with the incident.
In the second incident, the body of the victim later identified as Jamil Nashibdhar Khan, a resident of Uttar Shiv in Dahisar of the city, was found in that area.

"He was was sleeping by the side of a tea stall on the night of Monday/Tuesday, when he was allegedly killed by some unidentified persons," Narkar said.
The body was sent for post-mortem and a probe was launched after an offence was registered under section 302 of the IPC.
