Two brothers drown in pond, father ends life in sorrow

Two brothers drowned in a pond here at Jaikheda village following which their grieving father allegedly committed suicide, police said today.
According to police, the two brothers -- Gyaneshwar (21) and Vikas (19) -- had entered the pond to fetch water yesterday for their cattle when tragedy struck.
As one of them slipped in the waters, the other jumped in to save him. But the duo drowned in the pond.
As the news of the mishap reached home, their father Rajendra Khairnar, unable to bear the shock of losing his two sons, ended his life by jumping into a well, police said.

The boys were born to Rajendra and his wife Sunanda after they had five daughters.
