Two businessmen receive extortion threat

Two businessmen have allegedly received extortion threats, police said today.
Marble trader Ravish Kumar, who residents in Achheja village claimed that he received an extortion call from an anonymous person who demanded Rs 4 lakh, failing which he threatened to kill him, DSP Arvind Kumar said.
Ravish registered his complaint with the Badalpur police station here.
Efforts were being made to trace the call and arrest the caller, the police official said.
Meanwhile, Rakesh Garg, a petrol pump owner, in his complaint at Dankaur police station claimed that he has received two letters from an unknown person who demanded an extortion of Rs 10 lakh.
In the first letter, the extortionist has threatened to kill his family if the demanded amount was not paid at a farm house on Sikandarabad Bulandshahar road on March 16.
According to the complaint, when the amount was not paid, Garg received another letter on March 16 evening in which he has been instructed to deliver the amount at the same location on April 2.
