"Gift a Charkha - Contribute to the national heritage," is the new motto of the KVIC in its initiative to rediscover the role played by Khadi in the freedom struggle, KVIC Chairman V K Saxena said here.
"If you have an old or heritage Charkha, you could gift and contribute to the initiative. Your contribution will be prominently displayed at the museum forever with a note on the distinguished nature of your gift," read a public notice issued by the KVIC.
Two places have been identified in the capital to establish the National Museums for Charkha as "the wheel of self reliance", he said, adding that the first museum would be completed by June end and the next one in a month thereafter.
One of the places for the museum would be Gandhi Gram at the Rajghat on the Yamuna banks. "We are going to have grand charkha museum," Saxena said.
