The incident took place last evening when the five children of a family had gone to a forest to graze cattle at Kumhari Darri village, some 80 kms away from here, Pasan police station house officer P Kispotta said.
Ther victims were near the Bamhani river on the outskirts of the village when the bees attacked them, leaving the two-and-half years old Shankar Pando dead on the spot.
The other four managed to reach the village and were taken to a local community health centre. Shankar's sister Rajni died during the treatment, Kispotta said.
