The accused were arrested from Mumbai and Pune, an officer of Bandra Police Station, where a case had been filed in this connection, said.
They left their office in Kalbadevi area at around 10:15 PM in a Maruti Swift car. The consignment was stacked in the vehicle's boot, police said.
The arrested accused, along with their associates who are still absconding, followed the car in two hired taxis. The car was approaching a flyover in suburban Bandra when the taxis overtook and stopped the vehicle on the pretext of speeding and rash driving, police said.
Those arrested were charged with robbery, criminal conspiracy, wrongful restraint, among other offences.
