The accused demanded Rs 2,000 as 'hafta collection' from each of the hawkers to allow them to put up their business in Kharghar, Anti Corruption Bureau's DSP Sandip Karnik said.
They also allegedly demanded Rs 8,000 from a hawker, who had four different businesses, the ACB said.
The hawker lodged a complaint with the ACB's Thane unit which arrested the two assistant police sub-inspectors - Bashir Mohamad Khan Deshmukh (53) and Deepak Bhitade (32) for accepting Rs 6,000 from three hawkers.
An offence under the various sections of Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the three accused, the ACB said.
