The incident took place last night when the constables - Gurpreet Singh and Charanjeet Singh - were on patrol duty following which they spotted the alleged drug peddler who was riding on his motorcycle, they said.
The constables asked the drug peddler to stop but he thrashed the cops and left from the spot, police said.
The accused has been identified as Baljinder Singh, they said, adding a hunt has been launched to arrest him.
