The main aim of the exhibition 'Kongu Nadu Kalnadai Thiruvizha' (Kongu Nadu Cattle Show) was to protect indigenous breeds of cattle, to create awareness of latest dairy farming practices and to increase wealth of farmers through dairy farming and other allied activities, R Jagadeeshan, Manager, Vanavarayar Foundation, organisers, told reporters here today.
With more than 60 stalls, showcasing cattle feed, farm machinery, breeding and production, nutrition, the expo is expected to attract visitors from Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka, he said.
The show would also serve as a platform for farmers, companies, producers, organizations and all agri, dairy and livestock professionals to gather under a single roof annually and share knowledge, technology and innovations, he said.
It was also planned to set up a model farm next year for the benefit of cattle breeders and milk producers, so that new breeds can be supplied to them, he said.
