The two-day seminar is being attended by senior officers from the Navy and the Army, eminent academicians and luminaries from the field of 'Maritime History'.
The INA christened the Annual Seminar as the "Dilli" series in tune with the Mt Dilli Lighthouse at Ezhimala which has been a witness to the developments of maritime history of the region, a release from INA said.
Of the thirteen papers to be presented during the two-day event, eight dwelt with the "Important Expeditions and Sea Battles of Indian Maritime History", ranging from the "Naval foray of 1025 AD in Southeast Asia by the Cholas" to the more recent "Indo-Pak Conflict of 1971".
The seminar will be attended by Prof MGS Narayanan, Director General, Centre for Heritage Study, Kochi; Prof KKN Kurup, former Vice-Chancellor of Calicut University; Prof Himanshu Prabha Ray, Chairperson, National Monuments Authority, New Delhi; Prof KS Mathew, Director, IRISH, Kannur University.
